Gecko Insurance
Do you need to insure a gecko?
Geckos may be small pets, but their healthcare needs can be surprisingly specialised. Whether you keep a leopard gecko, crested gecko or another species, having access to the right veterinary care is an important part of responsible ownership. Gecko insurance can help you manage the cost of unexpected veterinary treatment, giving you greater financial flexibility if your pet becomes ill or suffers an injury.
Without insurance, you would need to pay eligible veterinary expenses yourself. Setting aside money for emergencies is one option, but a suitable gecko insurance policy offers an alternative way to prepare for the unexpected.
How much is pet insurance for a gecko?
You will pay £145.76 a year or 10 instalments of around £14.57 on our Premier policy. It offers up to £1,000 of vet fees, death and theft cover.
Our Essential policy costs £127.84 a year or 10 instalments of approximately £12.78. It covers up to £1,000 of vet fees.
Our cheapest level of cover costs £42.87 a year or can be spread over 10 instalments of around £4.28. Our Basic policy covers death and theft only and does not include vet fees.
Why buy gecko insurance?

Can you insure geckos that have recently been unwell?
We can’t cover your gecko if they’ve been to the vet for an accident or illness in the last 3 months.
Once they’ve been treatment-free for 3 months and are fit and healthy, we can insure them. Pre-existing conditions won’t be covered in the first year, but after that, we’ll review them based on the policy terms..
As always, cover is subject to our Policy Terms and Conditions.
