Insurance for older parrots

We can insure birds at any age, as long as they’re over 12 weeks. So whether your parrot is 12 weeks, or 12 years, we can insure them, as long as our Policy Terms and Conditions are met.

You can guess your bird’s age during the application if you’re not sure.

Why choose ExoticDirect?

  • We can cover up to 3 parrots on a policy
  • We specialise in exotic pets – and have been doing so since 1996
  • There’s no upper age limit for the parrots we insure

Can you insure parrots that have recently been unwell?

We can’t cover your bird if they’ve been to the vet for an accident or illness in the last 3 months. But don’t worry – once they’ve been treatment-free for 3 months and are fit and healthy, we can insure them. Pre-existing conditions won’t be covered in the first year, but after that, we’ll review them based on the policy terms.

As always, cover is subject to our policy terms and conditions.

Do you insure other types of pet bird?

We offer policies for other birds such as Bird of Prey Insurance and Small Bird Insurance.
